Get your Golden Ticket to the MCC Chocolate Factory Workshop

Step inside the MCC Chocolate Factory this April for a hands-on chocolate adventure created in collaboration with the talented team at The Curious Cocoa Company. This special session invites children aged 5 - 16 to explore the art of chocolate making while discovering the fascinating journey of chocolate from bean to bar.

During the workshop, young participants will become mini chocolatiers for the morning. They will paint chocolate moulds with edible paints, help temper real chocolate, and fill moulds to create beautifully decorated chocolate lollipops. Along the way, they will also learn about the history of chocolate and how it became one of the world’s most loved treats.

Every child will leave with their own handmade chocolate creations to take home.

Medway Culture Club is especially proud to deliver this workshop in partnership with The Curious Cocoa Company, a local artisan chocolate business based in historic Rochester, Kent. The company was founded by chocolatier Beth Frost and is inspired by a rich family heritage in confectionery.

Beth’s passion for chocolate is deeply rooted in her family history. Her grandmother, May Adele Taylor, owned a confectioner's called W and M Taylor on Northfleet High Street in the 1940s. Beth’s mother grew up around the shop, and Beth herself spent time as a child making cakes and sweets with her grandmother, who she fondly remembers as being completely devoted to sugar and baking.

Beth later trained in chocolate making under world-renowned pastry chef Mark Tilling at Squires Cookery School. Today, Curious Cocoa combines traditional chocolate making with modern confectionery techniques to create handmade artisan chocolate known for its distinctive flavours and vibrant colours.

Medway Culture Club is delighted to be partnering with a local company whose work is steeped in heritage, craftsmanship and cultural significance within the Medway community.

This workshop takes place on Saturday 25th April from 10:30 to 13:00 at MidKent College, Medway Road, Gillingham, ME7 1FN. This workshop offers exceptional value, combining professional creative instruction, materials, and lunch in one inclusive experience.

Spaces are limited, and this workshop sold out in record time the last time we did it so we strongly encourage early booking through our website at medwaycultureclub.co.uk/book-online.
