Medway Culture Club is pleased to be bringing a bespoke musical exhibition to Medway through a special collaboration with Intention Studio's Mikey Ragga & General Dips, FLOetic Lara and The Windrush Experience's David Lawrence.
This Black History Month, we’re cranking up the volume at MidKent College on Saturday 11th October 2025 (1pm–3pm) with an immersive exhibition that hits all the right notes.
Travel through the greatest hits of Black British music – from the classical genius of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, to the Windrush-era sounds of calypso and ska, the rise of reggae and dub, and the modern beats of hip hop and garage.
What’s in the mix?
📖 Storytelling sessions that riff on local and national heritage from @intentionstudiosound's Mikey Ragga
🎤 Soul-stirring spoken word & song from FLOetic @laraleeofficial
🎧 Artefacts & musical memorabilia curated by David Lawrence
🥘 Refreshments to keep the vibes alive
🔥 The ultimate Sound Clash Showdown – Intention Studio’s Mikey Ragga vs. Dave DJ Lawrence, battling for bragging rights. The crowd decides who’s top of the charts!
This isn’t just an exhibition – it’s a celebration, a jam session, and a history lesson all rolled into one. Come hungry for knowledge, music, and flavour – and leave uplifted by the rhythms that continue to unite communities today.
💸 Pay What You Can – Donations to Medway Culture Club charity are warmly welcomed to help us continue creating spaces for shared heritage and conversation. Guide price £7.50 per adult, children go FREE! Minimum donation £1.
Space is limited, so BOOK NOW to avoid disappointment.
This is a family-friendly, intergenerational event, so feel free to bring children, or better yet book them into our Music of Black Origin music production and percussion jam session beforehand, then join them for the exhibition from 1pm.
