What an honour it was to join Community, Corporate & Culture (CIC) as one of the final 5 charities shortlisted for the Charity of the Year Award on behalf of all of the volunteers at Medway Culture Club.

Medway Culture Club is an independent, community-led charity formed in 2020. With Medway becoming increasingly diverse, in a time of turbulence and uncertainty, we collectively saw the need to initiate this social enrichment and cultural education service to help break down bias.

Our Charity is driven by a diverse group of volunteers who devote their time and expertise, determined to be a catalyst for change.

Nearly 6 years on, we have witnessed unbelievable growth as we consistently continue our impactful work, reaching families across Kent and the South East, to help raise the aspirations of the next generation and support community cohesion. We are proud to deliver one of Kent’s largest community-led, youth-focused events in our Annual Carnival which brings the community together to learn from each other.

I’d personally like thank each and every one of the devoted volunteers, past and present who make our Charity award-worthy! Thank you for all of your hard work, which is impactful, innovative and immeasurable.

Our work at Medway Culture Club is only possible through vital #funding, which is increasingly difficult to secure. So, thank you to all of those who have believed in us and the work we do. And as we look to the future, we hope to continue to grow our collaborations, partnerships and secure necessary financial support and sponsorship.
