It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since Medway Culture Club first began.

What started in 2020, born out of a time of global uncertainty and a deep desire for change, has grown into a vibrant, community-led charity that’s proud to call Medway home.

We set out to create something meaningful. A space where children, families, and communities could come together to celebrate culture, learn from one another, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Over the years, we’ve delivered over 50 workshops, three exhibitions, four Black History bus tours, and now, five unforgettable community carnivals.

From Bhangra dancing and Diwali celebrations with Cohesion Plus, to Lunar New Year workshops with Medway Chinese School…

From our Wonder of Windrush exhibition with NKCN, to samba, steel pan, chocolate making, the art of graffiti and countless bake-offs…

Each session has been a celebration of heritage, identity, and connection.

We’ve been lucky to partner with brilliant local organisations like Medway African & Caribbean Association, Medway Youth Service, Nucleus Arts, Child-Friendly Medway, and so many more who share our values and our vision.

We'd like to thank our funders, Medway Council, Medway Youth Service, National Lottery Community Fund, Kent Community Foundation and of course the Royal Engineers museum for opening their doors and welcoming us in with open arms!

But more than anything, it’s the people who make this club what it is, our volunteers, families, artists, and young people who bring the energy, passion, and heart to everything we do.

Medway Culture Club’s vision is to continue being a catalyst for change, fostering understanding, pride, and opportunity for all. As it grows, we remain committed to making education interactive, inclusive, and culturally rich, creating profound and lasting social impact and social mobility.

If this feels like something you’d like to be part of, we’d love to have you on the team.

Get in touch and let’s make the next five years even brighter together!

If you came along to the Royal Engineers Museum on Saturday 9th August to join our Carnival, firstly - thank you! Secondly, we’d love to hear your thoughts so we can keep making the Carnival even better. Please share your feedback HERE

Thanks again, the MCC family! 💛
