On Saturday 17th October, Medway Culture Club is hosting a guided bus tour to mark Black History Month 2026. Medway's Got Culture is a bespoke bus tour of the Medway Towns designed and delivered by local historian and professional tour guide, Rob Flood from Oral History Medway. The tour explores some of Medway's lesser-known landmarks that pay tribute to the diverse history within the area. 3 hours, 4 stops, 5+ unforgettable stories of local black people including Sarah Forbes Bonnetta, William Cuffay, Olaudah Equiano, Asquith Xavier, James Barnor and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. From royalty and abolition to the Dockyard, railways, music and the fight for equality, discover the Black history that has been part of Medway’s story for centuries. All ages are welcome! £7.50 per child ticket & £12.50 per adult ticket. Please feel free to bring your own lunch and refreshments. A responsible adult must accompany children; adults will also need to purchase a ticket to attend.
