Workshop Description

Join Medway Culture Club for The Magic of Medway on Saturday 14th March, 10:30-13:00, at MidKent College Community Hub, Medway Road, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 1FN. A creative, interactive workshop celebrating everything children love about Medway, in collaboration with local award-winning designer, Esther Johnson. Children will take part in fun games and puzzles inspired by local history, explore the story behind the Medway Activity Book, and enjoy a special creative session where they will design and make their own small Medway souvenir, a keepsake they’ll be proud to take home and imagine visitors buying as a symbol of Medway. Each child will also receive a book, and the session will include a talk about how the book was created, giving insight into the creative process. For older children, the workshop will also touch on the Prince’s Trust and how organisations like this support young people in developing ideas, confidence, and opportunities for the future. This workshop blends creativity, learning, local pride, and inspiration in a fun, meaningful experience for all. 10:30 am - Drop off. 10:30 am - 10:45 am - Ice-breaker activities. 10:45 am - 12:30 pm - Medway games, souvenir-making, storytelling, book sharing & inspiration talk 12:30 pm - Lunch. 1:00 pm - Collection.
