Lyrici Arts has developed Soul Food Solo Stories as part of our Enter The Spotlight strand and the Homeward Artists Academy, a three-year programme designed to elevate Black and diverse lyrical artists. Kindly funded by Arts Council England, Colyer Fergusson Trust, Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Medway Council, Soul Food Solo Stories is the second phase of our academy’s programme, and is an enriching production that weaves together four joyful solo stories exploring Black heritage, family traditions, and what it means to belong.
Lyrici Arts is proud to work with and develop Soul Food Solo Stories alongside four Medway-based, Black Heritage associate artists: Aduke Aladekomo, Monique Day, Chika Jones, and Lizzy Partridge.
