Workshop Description

Ahead of the 5th annual National Windrush Day, this interactive workshop will use performing arts-based activities to describe the migration of people arriving in the UK from Caribbean countries between the 1940s and 1970s, who are known as the 'Windrush' generation. We will also have story-telling from a special guest speaker. To finish, we will serve a hot lunch of Fried Chicken, Rice and Coleslaw from the local Caribbean restaurant, Jerk Cafe. 10:30 am – 10:45 am: Arrival & ice-breaker activities 10:45 am – 12:30 pm: Storytelling and improvisation / role-play activities. 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm: Lunch: Fried Chicken, Rice and Coleslaw 1:00 pm – Collection.
